Looking back at the Alpine Visitors Center from the Ute Trail. We were heading down to Milner Pass. The beginning was icy, but there was snow to either side we could walk on instead.
Rhonda in front of only one of the beautiful views along the Ute Trail.
Near the Milner Trailhead it was incredibly icy. We both almost wiped out several times, but always seemed to recover in time. It was pretty treacherous!
Rhonda at the Nymph Lake overlook. The sunrise was amazing. We started at the trailhead around 6:00 a.m. in the dark with only a small flashlight. It wasn't as creepy as I thought it would be!
Along the Mills Lake trail. Rhonda showing off her Cuddle Duds as a joke for John, LOL.
From the Mills Lake trail you can see the Bear Lake parking area (middle left) and the Glacier Gorge parking area (middle right) where we parked.
Elk crossing the road. As I took this we were charged by a bull from behind. It happened really fast and I wound up about 10-15 feet from him when he stopped. A few others were even closer...probably 5 feet. Pretty scary!
Just before Bear Lake the aspen are incredible!
From Moraine. The peaks were getting some snow.
